Big Day for Frobose: Swats 5 Hits
|
Anthony Frobose was at the head of a Marion Dukes hit parade at Arsenal Ballpark. The 19-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Kingsport Arsenal that marched off with the 11-6 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Dukes skipper following the game. "Anthony did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."
Frobose did more than fine, dominating the Arsenal at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging first baseman told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Anthony Frobose singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jarrod Cande in the 9th.
This season, Frobose is hitting .427 with 47 hits, 7 home runs, 29 RBIs, scored 25 runs and played in 25 games.
