Cy Nielson was a calming influence out of the Marion Dukes bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 24-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Appalachian League Reliever of the Year Award for 2025.

The The United States native won the award with 13 saves in 20 relief appearances, 29 strikeouts in 19 innings and a record of 1-2 to go with his 4.74 ERA.

He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 16. Kenya Huggins of the Rome Gladiators finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Greysen Carter of the Savannah Sand Gnats finished third with 4 first place votes.
