Sanchez Belts Bunch of Base Hits
|
5 times is the charm -- at least for Carlos Sanchez.
The Marion Dukes shortstop tore up the Atlantic City Caesars to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Ballpark of Marion. The offensive onslaught from Sanchez powered the 23-14 Dukes win.
"Sanchez was a tough out," Atlantic City manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
Carlos Sanchez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Will Frisch in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Wilson Cunningham in the 8th.
This year, Sanchez is hitting at a .386 pace with 6 home runs and 28 RBIs. He has played in 29 games and scored 32 times.
