Smith Week's Best Player Monday, July 21st , 2025 Fremont fans have something to crow about today as Fremont catcher Will D. Smith nabbed the International League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Smith. He posted a .500 average (13-for-26) this past week with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs, and 7 runs scored. Thus far this season, Smith is hitting .307 with 7 home runs, 40 RBIs and 45 runs scored. He has 81 hits in 264 at-bats and has played in 65 games. |
