Oklahoma City Halts Nunez's Hitting Steak Saturday, July 26th , 2025 The Oklahoma City Outlaws got more than the 11-3 victory at Samurai Ballpark -- they also put an end to the 22-game hitting streak of Nashville Bootleggers designated hitter Malcom Nunez by holding him without a hit in 3 at-bats. After the game, Nunez seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." This season, Nunez is swinging the bat at a .274 pace. He has hit 13 home runs and scored 37 times, while driving in 35. His on-base percentage is .328 and he has played in 66 games. |
