Springdale Snaps Fernandez Streak at 20 Thursday, August 28th , 2025 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, Oklahoma City second baseman Jose Miguel Fernandez went hitless in 3 at-bats at Sluggers Ballpark. The sudden hitting drought came as the Outlaws snagged the 6-2 win over the Springdale Naturals. "Nope, it's not magic," Fernandez said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." In 2025 Fernandez has hit at a .344 clip with 168 hits, 31 home runs, 109 RBIs and has scored 99 times. |
