Mendez Tags Bats for 5 Hits Monday, April 20th , 2026 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Hendry Mendez of the Tallahassee Tigers had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate in his team's 13-5 win over the Austin Bats at Tigers Ballpark. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 22-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
