Garcia Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Friday, June 12th , 2026 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Maikel Garcia -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Field of the Hillcats and paced the 19-2 Bats win over the Hartford Hillcats. After his dynamite batting performance, the Austin third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Maikel Garcia singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
