Fremont Stops Liberato Hit Streak
Monday, May 5th , 2025
Kansas City left fielder Luis Liberato came into today's game against the Fremont Dukes on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.
The Dukes did their jobs well, beating the Kansas City Stars, 5-2, and holding Liberato hitless to snap his 23-game hitting streak. The 29-year-old left fielder had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short."
"What Luis did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Stars manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 23 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
This season, Liberato is batting .398 with 20 RBIs, 19 runs scored and 5 home runs.
