Baldwin 5-for-5 for New Orleans
Monday, July 28th , 2025
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Brooks Baldwin, it came around today.
The 24-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over Diamonds Ballpark to pace the 12-5 New Orleans Greys victory over the Hawaii Typhoon.
Hawaii skipper told reporters in the press room that "Baldwin deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Baldwin hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Brooks Baldwin singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Dylan File in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jack Leiter in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
This season, Baldwin is swinging the bat at a .341 rate with 102 hits in 299 at-bats. To date he has hit 12 home runs, scored 60 runs and driven in 47.
