Relief Ace Cops #1 Pitcher Award in August Monday, September 1st , 2025 A money pitcher -- the guy to bet on, when the chips are down. That's a very good description of a bullpen specialist. And one of the best in the league is Zach Joyce of the Portland Blaze. He was outstanding in August and was named the Pitcher of the Month in the Pacific Coast League. In August, Portland's star reliever held the opposition to a .133 average and put up 13 saves and 17 strikeouts in 13 innings with a 0-1 mark and a 1.38 ERA. His stats sheet for the year shows Joyce has managed to hold opponents to a .211 average in 51 relief appearances, while putting up 1-4 record with 54 strikeouts and 16 walks in 48.1 innings. He has a 3.35 ERA with 40 saves. |
