New Orleans Tops Sacramento
Sunday, September 28th , 2025
With a 9-0 win over the Sacramento A's tonight at Diamonds Ballpark, the New Orleans Greys wrapped up their 2nd title in team history.
New Orleans left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Greys celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game.
"Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said New Orleans manager . "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void."
A jovial mood filled the air as New Orleans celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works.
"We're going to celebrate our team, our championship New Orleans Greys," the mayor said.
The champions completed the regular season with a second-place finish in the Pacific Coast League Federal and a 81-63 record.
