Salinas Snaps Chourio Streak at 23
Saturday, May 17th , 2025
Albuquerque center fielder Jackson Chourio went 0-for-4 in Albuquerque's 4-2 triumph over the Salinas Storm, snapping his 23-game hitting streak.
Chourio spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later."
"I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though."
When Chourio made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending.
"There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Storm manager said of Chourio's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
In the current season, Chourio has put up a .407 batting average with 57 hits, 12 home runs, 31 runs batted in and scored 29 runs.
