Hitting Streak Still Alive for Lee

Korey Lee continued his streak at Ambassadors Ballpark, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Albany catcher was 1-for-5 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Ambassadors were not as fortunate, losing, 4-3, to the Madison Millers.
"Lee was hitting everything we threw at him," said Madison manager . "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win."
Korey Lee hit a solo-shot off Trystan Vrieling in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
Looking at his stats this year, Lee has compiled a .313 batting average, while hitting 16 home runs and driving in 53 runs. He has played in 64 games and scored 39 runs.

Paez Top EL Starter in June

The Eastern League Pitcher of the Month honor has been given to Jedixson Paez of Reading for a superlative month.
"I actually never wanted to be a pitcher," Paez told reporters when asked who he credits for his pitching ability. "I was an outfielder until high school and on the third day of tryouts my coach came up and said, 'Son you couldn't hit a lick even if we put it on a tee for ya.' Well, that ticked me off, so I decided if I couldn't hit I wanted to make sure no one else could either and so here I am."
It all turned out for the best as the Reading starter notched a 4-0 record with a 3.32 ERA last month. He made 6 starts and struck out 25 in 38 innings.
This season, Paez has 5 wins and no losses and a 2.74 ERA.

Reading Roughnecks fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in June.
Abimelec Ortiz put up a remarkable month at the age of 23 and has been named the Eastern League Batter of the Month.
For the month, Ortiz hit .382 with 12 home runs, 31 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
This year, Ortiz is batting .344 with 27 home runs. He has scored 60 runs and driven in 79.
