Rojas Blisters Hempstead
Sunday, April 13th , 2025
Albany Ambassadors center fielder Johan Rojas had a day to remember at Flying Dutchmen Stadium, ripping apart the Hempstead Flying Dutchmen and sparking the 11-6 Ambassadors win.
Rojas wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Rojas told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Johan Rojas hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Amos Willingham in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
To date, Rojas has collected 8 hits for a .571 average. He has posted 1 home run, scored 3 runs and driven in 7 runs.
