Harrisburg's Collins Suspended Saturday, July 26th , 2025 It was showtime at the Harrisburg-Champagne game yesterday at Ironmen Ballpark. Harrisburg third baseman Gavin Collins was kicked out of the game for arguing a third strike and he took out his frustration on his hat, the umpires and the dirt, earning an ejection with the kind of theatrical argument that fans don't often see. "I didn't like the ump's explanation and told him so in no uncertain terms. I told him he missed it and he knew it. I wanted to kick something and I figured that was the best thing. Walls don't work too well, and water coolers are expensive," Collins said. "I don't have any concern. I don't think I did anything that warrants a suspension. So much for his opinion. The league office did not agree with him and suspended him for 2 games. This season, Collins is batting .306 with 88 hits, 13 home runs, 56 RBIs, 28 walks, .389 OBP and has scored 49 runs. He has played in 84 games. |
