Brown Must Sit Out 4 Games Wednesday, August 20th , 2025 Devonte Brown of the Plattsburgh Beacons has been reprimanded and given a 4-game suspension for a shouting match with the plate umpire during a recent game at Black Bears Ballpark with the Champagne Black Bears. The Beacons center fielder said he didn't touch the umpire, but the umpire insisted he did. "I didn't see it, I didn't feel it," Brown said. "I was trying everything I could not to make contact with him. The league always sides with umpires. There is no use to appeal." On the season, Brown is batting .151 with 3 home runs and 12 RBIs. He has played in 21 games. |
