Beacons Chill Montano Hot Streak Saturday, April 18th , 2026 It was the best of both worlds for the Plattsburgh Beacons at Beacons Ballpark, as they defeated the Quebec Castors, 6-4, and also snapped Daniel Montano's 22-game hitting streak. The 27-year-old Quebec center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Montano, we just wanted to win the game," said Beacons skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Montano frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." For the season, Montano is currently batting .348 with no home runs and 4 RBIs. In 5 games he has reached base at a .375 rate and scored 5 runs to date. |
