Harrisburg's Celestino Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Tuesday, July 28th , 2026 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Gilberto Celestino, it came around today. The 27-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over Ironmen Ballpark to pace the 17-11 Harrisburg Senators victory over the Champagne Black Bears. Champagne skipper told reporters in the press room that "Celestino deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Celestino hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Gilberto Celestino singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. For the year, Celestino has hit at a .346 clip with 35 RBIs, 7 home runs and 43 runs scored. View Boxscore |
