Sunday, April 27th , 2025
Some days you can't have it all, as Myrtle Beach Suns center fielder Cole Carrigg discovered when he cracked three homers against the Shreveport Captains, and still lost.
"I have mixed emotions about this game," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but it's hard to be happy when you lose the game."
The 22-year-old got his name in the league record books, but the Captains walked away with the triumph, 5-4, at Sluggers Ballpark. Carrigg finished the day with 4 hits in 4 at-bats and 3 RBIs.
"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," he said in the postgame interview.
Cole Carrigg hit a solo-shot off Mitch Myers in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mitch Myers in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Thomas Burrows in the 9th.
For the season, Carrigg is batting .354 with 23 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 12 times and batted in 14.
