Basabe Rocks Thorns for 3 HRs Tuesday, August 12th , 2025 It was a good day for the Midland Rattlers and an exceptional one for Osleivis Basabe. The 24-year-old shortstop sent three bombs out of the park to help the Rattlers beat the San Jose Thorns, 21-5, at San Jose Grounds. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Basabe said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 10 runs and smacked 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Osleivis Basabe struck out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Garrett Hawkins in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Matt Vogel in the 7th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Randy Dobnak in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th. This year, Basabe has hit 8 home runs and posted a .349 batting average. |
