League Gives Jones and Phillips 5-Game Suspensions
Monday, September 1st , 2025
Bad blood could be brewing between the UFO and the Armadillos. In yesterday's contest at Amarillo Grounds, Roswell's Druw Jones and Amarillo's Dylan Phillips caused the benches to empty when they went toe-to-toe against one another. Only Jones and Phillips were ejected by the umpires.
Upon hearing that the two players had been suspended 5 games each by the league office, harsh comments came from both clubhouses.
League officials have warned both organizations about the consequences of premeditated retaliation.
This season, Jones is swinging the bat at a .273 rate with 109 hits in 399 at-bats. To date he has hit 14 home runs, scored 72 runs and driven in 63.
Currently Phillips has 39 relief appearances, saving 23. His record is 3-5 with 32 strikeouts in 38.1 innings and a 2.82 ERA.
