Midland Snaps Camargo Streak at 20 Thursday, April 23rd , 2026 Late in the game, all eyes in Roughriders Ballpark were on Jair Camargo as he stepped into the batter box. His 20-game hitting streak was on the line, and he had a zero in the hit column on the day. Sadly for Camargo, it was not meant to be -- the zero would stay and the streak would end. If there was a silver lining for Camargo, it was that his Plano-Frisco Roughriders won the game anyway, stopping the Midland Rattlers by the score of 5-3. "Winning took some of the disappointment out of it," Camargo told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 20 straight games. It's something I will always remember." In 9 games Camargo is hitting .289 this season with 11 hits, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs, 1 walk, .308 OBP and has scored 6 runs. |
