3 Roundtrippers for Wiseman
Tuesday, July 29th , 2025
Rhett Wiseman of the Destroyers won the battle against Kingston pitching, but lost the war. He hit three out of the park at Ballpark of Kingston, got his name in the league record book, but Newport News came up short in the win column, losing to the Buccaneers, 6-5. The Newport News right fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploded off his bat all day long.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said. "I try to go out there and have good at-bats. If I put a good swing on the ball, then it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one. I just try to have good at-bats."
For the game, the 31-year old right fielder Wiseman went 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
Where does he rank this day in his career? "It's up there," Wiseman said. "I'll put it up there in the upper echelon, despite the loss."
Rhett Wiseman hit a solo-shot off Owen Kellington in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Owen Kellington in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Paul Gervase in the 9th.
Wiseman is currently batting .255 with 27 home runs and 77 RBIs.
