Fremont-Merced Brawl, Charles and De Leon Suspended Saturday, August 30th , 2025 If there wasn't a history between Austin Charles of Fremont and Luis De Leon of Merced, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 8 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Charles said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." On the year, Charles is hitting .302 with 115 hits, 14 home runs, 75 RBIs, .405 OBP and has scored 83 runs. This year, De Leon has posted a record of 5 wins and 3 losses with a 5.50 ERA. He has appeared in 23 games and struck out 99 in 104.2 innings. |
