It's Official: Malibu Clinches Playoff Spot Sunday, September 7th , 2025 The Malibu Stars clubhouse was filled with loud music and revelry late into the night, as the team celebrated a California League wild card position. The team, whose record stands at 79-59, battled throughout the year, but ultimately saw the quest for the playoffs come down to the season's final games. "I'd be lying if I said we knew we were going to make it," said closer Calvin Coker. "We did have confidence, but in the back of your mind you always wonder what's going to happen. There were some good teams pushing us." Now the Stars don't have to worry, as they are in position to potentially win the 3rd California League championship in franchise history. |
