Nickens Smacks 5 Hits for Kachinas
Sunday, April 19th , 2026
It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Cameron Nickens of the Flagstaff Kachinas.
The Flagstaff left fielder gave it his all and dominated San Mateo Bloom pitching at Kachinas Ballpark, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Bloom going home the winner, 9-6.
"There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Nickens said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead."
Cameron Nickens hit a solo-shot off Robbie Erlin in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season, Nickens is hitting .417 with 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has 10 hits in 24 at-bats and a .440 OBP.
