Smith, Abner Receive 4-Game Suspensions Friday, May 16th , 2025 At a recent Bloom-Pacifics contest at Ballpark of Mountain View, D'Andre Smith of San Mateo took exception to what Philip Abner of Mountain View said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players. Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 4 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct." For the season, Smith is batting .306 with 30 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 18 times and batted in 23. So far this year, Abner has delivered 2 saves. In 7 relief appearances he has 7 strikeouts in 8 innings with a 9.00 ERA and no wins and 1 loss. |
