Kalmer Wins FSL Best Player Award

It was an extraordinary week for Brian Kalmer of the Daytona Firebirds. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .500, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the Florida State League. Last week Kalmer went 9-for-18, racked up 3 home runs and 10 RBIs and scored 8 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Daytona first baseman.
So far this year, Kalmer is batting .303 with 25 home runs, 75 RBIs and 60 runs scored.

Dunedin-Lakeland Fight Results in Suspensions

Maick Collado of the Dunedin Danger and Stephen Jones of the Lakeland Catfish received notification from the league commissioner's office that they had been suspended for 4 and 8 games respectively for their part in the on-field ruckus in a recent game at Catfish Ballpark.
Thus far this year, Collado has hit .308 with 5 home runs and 21 RBIs.
Jones has taken the mound for 18 relief appearances this season, nailing down 2 saves while notching a 0-1 record with a 4.58 ERA. The Lakeland reliever has limited opposing batters to a .214 batting average.
