Verdugo Gone for Season in Tampa
Friday, July 25th , 2025
Ryan Verdugo of the Tigers just might have to call it quits for the season. The 22-year-old Tampa starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Daytona Firebirds recently at Ballpark of Daytona. Verdugo suffered a fractured elbow while throwing a pitch. The Tigers medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 5 months.
This year, Verdugo has fashioned a 1-3 mark, 5.35 ERA and pitched 70.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .311 against him and he has logged 47 strikeouts.
