Lakeland Halts Areinamo's Hitting Steak Thursday, August 28th , 2025 Jadher Areinamo saw his 21-game hitting streak wither and die during the St. Lucie Sand Gnats win over Lakeland at Catfish Ballpark. The 21-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Lakeland Catfish, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 5-3. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Areinamo told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 21 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." Areinamo is hitting .383 so far this season with 53 RBIs and 74 runs scored. He has 145 hits including 14 home runs, 40 walks and .442 OBP. |
