Balcazar 5-for-6 for Firebirds Wednesday, June 24th , 2026 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Leonardo Balcazar -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of Daytona and paced the 14-12 Firebirds win over the Tampa Tigers. After his dynamite batting performance, the Daytona shortstop told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Leonardo Balcazar singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 8th.
