Vero Beach Snaps O'Neill Streak at 25 Friday, July 10th , 2026 The 25-game hitting streak is over. Daytona Firebirds catcher Matt O'Neill failed to get a hit against the Vero Beach Blue Angels and had his consecutive-game hitting streak broken. The 28-year-old went 0-for-2 in his club's 11-7 victory over the Blue Angels at Ballpark of Daytona. "I think I only made it to 25 games because I got lucky once or twice," he said. "So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak." O'Neill is currently batting .349 with 7 home runs, 34 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 51 hits in 146 at-bats. |
