Firebirds Chill Correa Hot Streak Monday, May 5th , 2025 The Vero Beach Blue Angels lost to the Daytona Firebirds, 6-2, at Ballpark of Daytona, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of J.C. Correa's 22-game hitting streak. The catcher went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Correa, we would win the game," Firebirds manager explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Correa is swinging at a .478 pace on the year with 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has played in 23 games. |
