Bad News for Daytona, Steven Jennings Hurt Monday, August 24th , 2026 Steven Jennings of the Firebirds just might have to call it quits for the season. The 27-year-old Daytona reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the St. Lucie Sand Gnats recently at Ballpark of Daytona. Jennings suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch. The Firebirds medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 12-13 months. Jennings has taken the mound for 22 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-3 record with a 9.00 ERA. The Daytona reliever has limited opposing batters to a .311 batting average. |
