Vero Beach's Horvath Goes Ballistic with 6 Hits Thursday, May 15th , 2025 Mac Horvath exploded for a barrage of base hits at Ballpark of Tampa. The Vero Beach second baseman had a field day in his team's 32-6 triumph over the Tampa Tigers, finishing 6-for-7. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Horvath must have focused at least 6 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Mac Horvath singled in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in a run in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Leury Tejada in the 9th.
