Nick Kurtz, the talented Truth or Con. first baseman, certainly made his name known among Midwest League hurlers this season. He hammered them for 175 hits, 28 doubles, no triples, 36 home runs, 132 RBIs and scored 103 times. That kind of output made him the choice for Midwest League Outstanding Hitter Award for 2025.

He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 12. Logan Cerny of the Kane County Cougars finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Brock Wilken of the Fort Wayne Bucks finished third.

23-year-old Wyatt Crowell of the El Paso Diablos put together a good year in 2025 for such a young player. Crowell was named today as the winner of the Midwest League Outstanding Pitcher Award.

Crowell crafted an impressive 13-7 record and a 4.52 ERA. In 153.1 innings he allowed 141 hits, struck out 153, and walked 84.

He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 12. John Swanda of the Springfield Sluggers finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Chen-Wei Lin of the Truth or Con. Cactus BJacks finished third.
