Kane County-San Antonio Brawl, Stehly and Bruni Suspended Sunday, July 27th , 2025 Yesterday at Vipers Ballpark Murphy Stehly and Gavin Bruni got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Kane County Cougars and San Antonio Vipers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Stehly will have to sit out 4 while Bruni would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Stehly is currently batting .351 with 5 home runs, 41 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has 79 hits in 225 at-bats. Currently Bruni has a 0-0 won-lost record in 1 starts with a 4.08 ERA. He also has 14 strikeouts in 17.2 innings. |
