Year Ends for Zach Fruit in Quad City

The season is ending on a bad note for Zach Fruit, reliever for the Quad City River Bandits. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Fruit was hurt against the Modesto Miracle while throwing a pitch. He suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament and will be out for at least 12 months.
Fruit has taken the mound for 15 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 0-0 record with a 5.67 ERA. The Quad City reliever has limited opposing batters to a .287 batting average.
