Squires Goes on Rampage Against Saints
Friday, August 29th , 2025
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but South Bend's Brett Squires made it happen against the Saints. Everything came together at the plate for the 25-year-old first baseman as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and helped the Fighting Irish triumph, 10-8, at Fighting Irish Ballpark.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Squires said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Brett Squires hit a two-run home run off Marcus Johnson in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Joe Rock in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
So far this season, Squires has recorded a .342 batting average with 65 hits, 7 home runs, 43 RBIs, 40 runs scored and a .447 OBP.
