Higgins Rips San Antonio for 5 Hits
Tuesday, April 14th , 2026
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for P.J. Higgins, it came around today.
The 32-year-old catcher scattered hits all over Vipers Ballpark to pace the 15-7 Grand Rapids Saints victory over the San Antonio Vipers.
San Antonio skipper told reporters in the press room that "Higgins deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Higgins hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
P.J. Higgins flied out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Cody Adcock in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Quinton Low in the 8th.
