Grand Rapids Snaps Santana Streak at 20 Saturday, April 18th , 2026 Late in the game, all eyes in Miracle Ballpark were on Cristian Santana as he stepped into the batter box. His 20-game hitting streak was on the line, and he had a zero in the hit column on the day. Sadly for Santana, it was not meant to be -- the zero would stay and the streak would end. If there was a silver lining for Santana, it was that his Modesto Miracle won the game anyway, stopping the Grand Rapids Saints by the score of 5-3. "Winning took some of the disappointment out of it," Santana told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 20 straight games. It's something I will always remember." This season, Santana has banged out 8 hits in 21 at-bats for a .381 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .480 pace and his totals also include 5 RBIs and 7 runs scored. |
