Soto Hittin' on All Cylinders
Saturday, May 2nd , 2026
It was a day of mixed emotions for Carlos Soto. The La Crosse Ironmen catcher had little to celebrate, as one of the best games of his career was marred by a tough 12-11 loss to the Fort Wayne Bucks.
Soto hit for the cycle in defeat, collecting 5 hits in 7 at-bats, including 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 2 home runs. The performance, however, was not enough to will the Ironmen past a red-hot Bucks club.
"Normally when you have a big game, it makes you feel great afterward," Soto said in a quiet clubhouse following the game. "But the loss takes a lot of that away. You just want to forget today and start over."
For the day, Soto finished with 6 RBI and 4 runs scored to go with his 5 hits.
Carlos Soto flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Christian Romero in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Colton Gordon in the 10th and grounded out in the 11th.
Thus far this season, Soto has hit .286 with 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 11 times.
