Mitchell Put in Cooler, Hitless Against San Antonio Saturday, June 13th , 2026 It was the best of both worlds for the San Antonio Vipers at Vipers Ballpark, as they defeated the Kane County Cougars, 4-2, and also snapped Nick Mitchell's 26-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old Kane County right fielder failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Mitchell, we just wanted to win the game," said Vipers skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Mitchell frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." To date this season, Mitchell is hitting .349 with 3 home runs. |
