Gators End Mongelli Streak Wednesday, August 20th , 2025 The Lake Placid Gators pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting Sam Mongelli hitless in 4 at-bats during the club's 7-3 victory over the Delmarva White Wings at Gators Ballpark. The disappointing performance ended a 22-game hitting streak for the second baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Mongelli said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." Looking at his stats this year, Mongelli has compiled a .284 batting average, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 48 runs. He has played in 85 games and scored 51 runs. |
