Columbus Halts Janik's Hitting Steak
Monday, August 25th , 2025
Delmarva catcher Camden Janik came into today's game against the Columbus River Rats on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.
The River Rats did their jobs well, beating the Delmarva White Wings, 16-6, and holding Janik hitless to snap his 22-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old catcher had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-5, telling reporters only that he "came up short."
"What Camden did was exciting and quite an achievement," said White Wings manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 22 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
This season, Janik is batting .299 with 144 hits, 14 home runs, 91 RBIs, 61 walks, .384 OBP and has scored 70 runs. He has played in 128 games.
