Valenzuela Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Lake Placid Wednesday, April 30th , 2025 After 25 games, Brandon Valenzuela had his hitting streak ended abruptly by the Lake Placid Gators at Chanticleers Ballpark. The Charleston Chanticleers catcher failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt. Despite the tough day at the plate, Valenzuela seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Chanticleers beating the Gators, 5-0. "It was good while it lasted," Valenzuela said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory." At present, Valenzuela is batting .395 and has collected 5 home runs, 20 RBIs, .484 OBP and scored 20 runs. |
