Wilson wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Wilson told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Ryan Wilson struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
