Great Day for Berg -- 5 Hits Wednesday, July 23rd , 2025 Derek Berg really sizzled at the plate in his team's 18-4 win over the Asheville Aviators. The New River catcher blistered Asheville for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "Berg was too tough to get out today," the Aviators skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Derek Berg hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
