Crooks 5-for-6 for Pirates Wednesday, May 14th , 2025 The Clearwater Beach Pirates stopped the Pascagoula Crawdads by a score of 15-2 at Crawdads Ballpark, with the lion's share of the credit going to catcher Jimmy Crooks. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Crooks said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Crooks did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Crawdads. "Not much that I can say," offered Pascagoula manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us." Jimmy Crooks hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Trevin Michael in the 9th.
